Supports New Doctors In: Illinois

Fun Fact: I have a pet tarantula named Boris

Favorite Hobby: Yoga, tennis, wine tasting, reading

Vet School: University of Illinois

Funniest Vet School Experience: During vet school on ER rotation, a dog went into cardiac arrest, and I was told to announce a code blue over the intercom to the hospital. I picked up the phone, and in a very polite, soft tone, as if I was ordering coffee, stated to the whole hospital, “Um we have a code blue in the ER, we have a code blue in the ER, thank you” It doesn’t seem as funny typed out, but I was definitely made fun of for the sweet voice and gratitude in which I announced an emergency. Embarrassing.

Advice for new grads: Give yourself grace. Have a mantra that you tell yourself during hard days (mine is “All I can do is the next right thing”). Remember that there are always resources available to help find answers, you don’t have to know everything. Lean into your relationships inside and outside of work. Make time to do the things you love, even if you’re tired.
